Dealing with social events as an employer, an employer-sponsored social event, you know, having a holiday party, you, while you want everybody to have a great time and promote, you know, everybody wants to go out and have a few drinks. You really, as the employer, you could be held liable if that employee ends up in an accident and kill somebody on the way home from a holiday party.
That was a company event and you provided unlimited alcohol. So there’s a reason why at most events we always recommend have drink tickets and the employee gets 2 drink tickets and that’s it. You’re protecting the company, you’re protecting the employee.
