An organization needs to know what its attrition rate is and understand what the norm is for their industry because there’s different attrition rates for different industries. For example, industries that employ first time workers are going to have like fast food chains. Their attrition rate is over 100%.
I teach HR, and when I talk to my HR students, and I ask them, and I say, “Would you be happy with an attrition rate of 100%?” You know, they freak out, because they go, Our attrition rate’s 30%. Well, what industry are you in? So, each industry is different.
