I am putting you on notice. Stop using the word probation. So I got a call the other day from a client who used the word probation during the first 90 days of their employee’s employment. And I said, that’s a word we don’t use anymore because probation implies that you go through that period and then you’ve got a job maybe for life.
So the word to use is introductory. When you hire somebody and you wanna give them that first 90 days to see if it works out for them and they work out for you, you wanna call that the introductory period and not the word probation. It’s a word you wanna stay away from.
