I believe that we learn from either our very own experiences or the experiences of others. I wanted to share some lessons learned and why background checking is so important.
Marlies shared with us a story about a conversation she had with one of our clients regarding background checks. They had an employee who they had a serious issue with and had they done a background check, the issue would have been revealed. Marlies explained how important they are to conduct even when you know the individual. You just never know what may show up in the results. She was able to set them up with a system where they are now checking all their new hires to ensure there will be no issues in the future. They now have peace of mind and it is one less thing keeping them up at night.
My experience in conducting a background check on someone was to find out that they were a victim of identity theft. Had we not conducted that check who knows what might have happened.
