People First’s 12 Days of Christmas is going on and today we are to share our favorite holiday recipe.
I guess my favorite recipe is Mom’s cheesecake recipe. For those of you who may be familiar with Junior’s NY Cheesecake, that’s the recipe she has which was handed down from her aunt Madeline.
CRUST
Put 10 graham crackers (20 halves) in waxed paper and roll with pin until crushed. Put in bowl and add 1/8 lb. butter and blend with hands until all crumbs are damp. Spread on 9″ spring form pan.
PREHEAT oven 370 degrees
INGREDIENTS
2 lbs. Cream cheese (4 8oz pkgs. Phila.)
1 ½ cup sugar 4 eggs
¾ cup milk
2 cups Sour Cream (1 pint)
4 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon Vanilla
Beat cream cheese in DEEP bowl.
Add sugar and mix.
Put eggs in one at a time – beat after each.
Add milk, sour cream flour and vanilla mixing after each addition.
Put into spring form pan lined with graham crackers.
Pour water into a 9 X 13 baking pan
Place cheesecake in the pan with water
Bake 370 degrees for one hour.
Rack and let cool. (About 1/2 hour or more on rack)
Cool in refrigerator overnight.
It is best to eat next day, and not on day of baking.
