Working with Exempt Team Members

When someone is exempt and an employer will say to me, “yeah, but they come in late or, you know, they leave early.” Well, are they getting the job done? If they’re getting the job done, then are you not giving them enough work? Because your expectation is that they work more than 40 hours a week. Then you need to provide them with the work and explain to them what you want to see them accomplish to get more work done. But if you’re saying this is your job, and my expectation is that you get this job done, if they can get it done in less time, good for them.
