The benefits of outsourcing HR functions are, with any outsourced function, is that you don’t have to employ somebody who’s not going to be as productive. The cost of having somebody on payroll, benefits, PTO, all of those things cost more money than if you outsource and you do pay as you go. There are some HR consultants who charge a retainer.
That’s not what I do. The feedback I’ve gotten from folks that I work with are this is great. I pay as I go. So if they have an HR issue, they pick up the phone, they call me, the clock starts. I bill them for the time we spend on the phone. When we’re done, the clock stops and they get billed for my time.
