If we don’t start from the top, then the culture is going to happen however the people want to run it. So, management needs to determine how do we want, do we want people to feel like we’re being micromanaged and we’re watching the clock, or do we want a culture where everybody knows your name and we all get along and, you know, we’re willing to pitch in and we want to be team players. That all starts from the top. You want management to encourage behavior that will promote that culture. You don’t want to say this is the culture we want, but then the behavior and how people behave and act in the organization contradicts what management wants their culture to be.
