Steal my heart? Fine. Steal my inventory? No way! So I got a call the other day from a client who has an employee who was stealing from my client’s client. That client suspected the person of stealing and set them up. They now have proof that that person was stealing from them. And came to me and said, “I don’t wanna press charges. I just want you to know that they are stealing from me. What should that client do?”
Well, they have proof with proof. They are perfectly safe in terminating that employee. What the client should have done though, was call the police because without a police report, that person can go and do it to someone else.
So my suggestion always is if somebody has done something illegally, they should be reported. They weren’t, but my client was within their rights to terminate that individual because they had proof that they were stealing. Struggling with employee theft? Don’t know what to do? Give us a call. We can help.
