Oh, there’s a lot to unpack here. First of all, Veronica should have done her due diligence before she applied for a tipped position. One of the things that the supervisor did not explain, or the interviewer did not explain at the time of the interview, was that the government requires the employer to pay the difference between the $2.13 and the minimum wage rate at the time.
And as minimum wage changes, that $2.13 goes up. The last thing I wanna say is with the change with the new bill that’s been enacted. There is a discussion that the tipped employees will not be taxed on their tips.
